I recently bought a rebuilt 1979 Kawasaki KZ750 and it was running a little rough. I took off the carbs and did a clean and now it wont even turn over. I've tried everything and it just wont start.

The engine has almost been taken apart in order to access the cylinder heads. I am stuck trying to get the timing cover off of the DOHC model. The cam gear sprockets feel literally impossible to remove as I may not have the tools to remove those particular bolts. My plan was to not remove the engine but that may be necessary.
