I need a mechanic who has a diagnostic computer to set the distributor to zero so the cam and crank sensors are alligned

My car can reverse but not drive and the engine light is on. I’m thinking it’s something to do with the transmission but I’m just trying to fix the problem as soon as possible.

When I put my shifter into gear nothing happens. From what I can see, cable is fine under shifter inside vehicle but I am not sure what is going on.

My battery cables connectors or the cables just need to be cleaned cuz the battery is good and it just won't start it just has a short
