Mechanic Job in Chicago, Illinois

Small trucking company is looking for a skilled technician to partner up for a routine, preventive and emergency truck maintenance (oil change, tire change, repair brakes, springs, clutches, wiring, etc.) No engine work. Ideal candidate must be willing to drive a service vehicle, and be able to repair or replace tires or perform light mechanical service as needed and do the job at indoor and outdoor work environment and all weather conditions. Other job duties include: - Determining vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts. - Correcting vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems. - Maintaining vehicle records by documenting services, repairs and DOT inspections. Requirements: 1-2 years of truck repairs and diagnostics experience. Possession of own tools. Valid drivers license with good driving record. Must be a self-starter and willing to take the initiative, able and willing to work without direct supervision. Offered: Hourly pay based on experience and skills. Flexible hours. Paid overtime.
