Mechanic in Bothell West, Washington

Little about myself I'm 45 years old and have been interested in anything mechanical since I helped my dad rebuild the engine in our family car a 1963 impala ss with a 409Cid engine at age 9 prior to that I used to take anything apart to see how it worked thst I could get my hands on. Drove my parents nuts!! But they supported me in my interests and by age 9 I was racing Go carts and maintaining my own equipment. At age 15 I started work at the local service station snd yes that's back when we checked your oil and air in tires filled your tank and washed your windshield all those things that companies charge you for these days calling it scheduled maintenance well by age 18 I managed the service department and was labelled head mechanic . I held that job for 5 years and word got out about my ability and I started to work up to bigger and bigger shops but i really missed the interaction with the customers and to be honest I like compliments and after taking care of someone's problem and getting them back on the road safetly and affordably it really gave me a good feeling something that is lost when that customer is only identified by a number on a work order or the color of a car so I changed careers and worked on boats for a few years until a friend told me about a job up on pane field for Goodrich aerospace I checked it out and started my new career as a aircraft mechanic specializing in sheet metal fabrication and complete overhauls of Boeing jumbo jets to make a long story short I was eventually hired by Boeing and after 8 years there I had a major medical problem that had me in emergency surgery and a few more after that snd my time away from work got me laid off. So now I have re applied st Boeing but in my search to get out of medical debt I came across this site and after all my experience and keeping up on the latest vehicles and how to diagnose them and also my hobbies that include a 69 camaro thst I've done myself a BMW m3 that now has a intercooled supercharger on it making 496 HP and very dependably could be driven every day so anyway I saw a chance to get back that feeling I miss of 1on 1 with the customer being able to look them in the eyes and explain what was needed to repair their car in words they can understand without the upsell of everything they don't need to do to their car today but maybe keep an eye on it for the future when their not spending on Christmas. My charges are generally half of what a dealership would charge you and I like to bill per job not hourly if I can help it because alot of guys tend to slow down when it's billed by time I'm not one of them and a little inside info dealerships charge book time.. That is the time a equally trained mechanic in the USA working at a comfortable pace with hand tools takes to do the same job u need done that's the amount of labor hours you will be charged but behind closed doors the mechanic working on your car using air tools and rechsrgable tools and all of the hi tech tools to make the job faster and easier for him and he will do the job in less than half of the billed book time and start another job and that's how dealerships can make so much money they are doing 2 or 3 jobs for the time it takes to do 1 so they make 3 times the money for the dealership in the time it takes to do one in reality. So I really get a feeling that I'm helping my fellow human who is someones mom or dad or daughter who don't deserve to be basically robbed of their money just because their talents are in something else. in general I've been helping people in my spare time for as long as I can remember and seeing this website my first thought was ,I can help people and at the same time make a little money at it so I'm here to establish myself and share my knowlage of what's intrigued me since I was a little boy..
