We are expanding our operations and looking for new employees for full-time positions with our company. Applicants will need to be within a local range of Penn Laird due to quick response times for our customers being a necessity. We provide services to tractor trailers, commercial vehicles and equipment hauling, oversize loads, towing personal vehicles, and more. Due to this, applicants must know their way around a tractor trailer and be able to pull drive shafts, work on tires, breaks, hoses, lights, batteries, etc. Anything major is to be towed to a shop, however, anything we can easily fix along the road and have the customer back up and running is beneficial to our customers. Must be able to diagnose within reason and determine if the fix can be done along the road safely or if the breakdown will need to be towed to a shop to be fixed. We are a towing company, and applicants will need to have a Class A CDL, however, for applicants that possess the diesel mechanic experience we are looking for, we will work with them until they are able to get their Class A CDL. They would need to get the CDL on their own, at their own expense. Blue Ridge Community Collage does offer a class for this and in the mean time, the service truck does not need a CDL to drive. The optimal candidate will be able to drive the wreckers and tow as well as the service truck and fix issues along the road for customers.
