Mechanic Job in Winchester, Virginia

My daughters mothers vehicle is currently not running. She does alot for our daughter. But her vehicle not running is affecting hers and our daughters life. Everything is dead on the vehicle. When you try to start it. You just hear a faint clicking. I put a brand new battery in it and still nothing. I'm not a mechanic. So I have no clue what it could be. However I did check the fuses and there was one that said Alt 100 on it. On one side of the fuse where the piece of metal connects to the little round thing in the middle. That piece was burnt and no longer connected to the round piece in the middle. I have no idea if that's what the problem is. It would be much easier to explain over the phone.
