This involves the use of preventive maintenance as well as scheduled and non-scheduled routine maintenance to eliminate or substantially reduce downtime. • Serve on the Safety Committee; contribute for identification and correction of unsafe working conditions. • Specify equipment requirements, and work with vendors in a professional, effective manner. • Perform necessary parts pick-up or other maintenance related functions • Perform necessary emergency repair. • Assist in the general maintenance of forklifts, automobiles, and other equipment. COMMUNITY: Salem, Oregon • Salem is the capital of Oregon the count seat of Marion County. • Home of the Willamette University, Corban University and Chemeketa Community college • Oregon is the largest public employer in the city and Salem Health is the largest private employer • Salem has lots to offer May - October with Markets, the annual World Beat Festival , Salem Art Association, the largest State Fair and many more attractions BACKGROUND PROFILE: Maintenance Electrician Mechanic • Five (5) years practical experience maintaining all aspects of a plant or production facility, including full responsibility for maintenance of machinery, electrical, HVAC, forklifts, equipment sensors and control systems. (3 years Min experience) • Demonstrate working knowledge of HVAC systems, boilers, air compressors, and hydraulics. • Knowledge of plant operations and necessary maintenance. • Demonstrate the knowledge and skills to troubleshoot and repair equipment, including electrical equipment, pneumatics and hydraulics. • Skill in welding, operation of cutting equipment, machine tools and electrical testing equipment. • Able to lift, carry, slide, push, or pull up to 75 pounds. • Able to bend, twist, squat, kneel, and move freely as a given repair or maintenance situation may require. • Demonstrate sufficient manual dexterity to effectively utilize screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, nuts, bolts, nails and other small hardware and associated tools as needed. • Able to operate a forklift and be certified by a NIOSH or OSHA approved program. • Able to demonstrate physical ability to operate welding, cutting equipment, machine tools, and electrical testing equipment. • Certified in First Aid and CPR, or become certified within 90 days of hire. The Maintenance Electrician/Mechanic must maintain certification throughout the term of employment. • Must have LME or Journey Electricians License • Willing to answer emergency maintenance or repair calls any time of a day including weekends and holidays. Also capable to work overtime and shift work as required.
