Business Location: 306-165 the Queensway, Toronto, ON, M8Y 1H8 Work location: 885 Avonhead Road, Mississauga, ON, L5J 4B1 Type of Employment: Full time - Permanent Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible Job Description: • Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions • Repair or replace defective machinery parts • Perform routine maintenance work on machinery • Program programmable logic controllers (PLCs) • Operate hoisting and lifting equipment • Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up • Operate machining tools to fabricate parts • Installing machinery and equipment • Assembling machinery and equipment (prior to installation) • Coach and instruct apprentices • Supervise other workers • Estimate costs and materials • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications • Oiling, greasing and repairing machinery and melon line dumping heavy lift and automated production and processing equipment • Maintain, repair and paint as required the facilities, equipment and machinery of the company • Collect replacement parts Requirements: • Education: Completion of secondary school is required. • Experience: Completion of a three- to four-year apprenticeship program OR a combination of over three years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in industrial machinery repair or millwrighting is required. • Driver’s licence is required due to the nature of the daily tasks • Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail, Physically demanding, Handling heavy loads. • Personal suitability: Team player, Excellent oral communication, Excellent written communication. Salary: $36.00 hourly – 44 hours per week. Operating shifts are between 6:30 am to 6:00 pm from Monday to Sunday. On call work on short notice to repair equipment The shifts vary according to the business needs and overtime will be required. Weekend and night hours will be required on a regular basis to complete maintenance and facility repairs This is an extremely physical and demanding position.
