Mechanic Job in Visalia, California

Candidates should have experience; however, highly motivated and trainable individuals with transferrable skills will also be considered. (Some training will be provided.) If you have that drive, are looking for long term employment, and are comfortable working in industrial and commercial settings, you might be our ideal candidate. The Industrial Boiler Mechanic will work alongside a Senior Boiler Technician as well as work independently at job sites. Will start as a part time position (less than 40 hours/week) and move into a full time position quickly (minimum 40 hours/week.) The selected candidate will provide our customers with outstanding and professional customer service at all times. DESIRED SKILLS: * Basic Welding Skills: TIG, Stick, Torch, Pipe Fitting, Socket Welds, Weld Pipe * General Wrenching Skills: Marking, labeling and the ability to take things apart and reassembling * Pipe Fitting: Familiar with steam and hot water; Fit pipe: Face to face, Center to center, Plumb and square * Know how to measure and layout for welding and piping; Grinding and threading pipe * Be able to identify parts and know the difference between steam and water piping REQUIRED SKILLS: * Must have at least 1 years of experience welding, pipe fitting, or boiler mechanic * Ability to troubleshoot * Ability to interpret technical manuals, read blueprints and structural piping diagram * Must be able to operate and maintain hand and power tools * Ability to communicate effectively. (Read, write, and verbally communicate in English) * Must be able to calculate various measurements using basic math skills * Ability to respond to changing demands effectively * Able to work well independently and know when to seek assistance * Must have a strong sense of customer service * Must be a US Citizen and have GED or equivalent * Must understand and comply with OSHA safety guidelines * Must be able to perform tasks essential to the position: Ability to lift 50 lbs, ability to bend, twist, and stoop Ability to climb ladders, work in hot or cold environments, work in confined spaces Ability to work in elevated locations/from a ladder Ability to work in loud and hot temperature areas WORK SCHEDULE: * Must be available to work all shifts, including Nights, Weekends, Holidays, Overtime (sometimes up to 14 hours), and On Call * Candidate will need to drive to Visalia when scheduled to work and will use a company vehicle to perform service work: Our clients are all over California, so driving is a MUST! Company truck and gas card provided while working Some travel required, per diem paid when travelling Successful completion of a background check, drug test, and driving record check are all conditions of employment.
