Mechanic Job in San Jose, California

Bay Area start up company in search of a Diesel Mechanic/Technician. This position requires a high level of proficiency and working knowledge related to heavy duty Diesel engine and medium duty diagnosis and repair. Comprehension of Fleet Maintenance operations, understanding of electrical, hydraulics, air-ride systems, PM and BIT inspection knowledge needed. In need someone with current experience, who has not been out of the business for more than two years at most. Position Information: • Monday -- Friday (Must be flexible on weekends) Part time to Full time position • Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation required • Inspect and perform work on equipment • Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance •Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures • Perform other duties as required Qualifications: • Valid CA Driver License with a clean driving record -- NO DUI's NO EXCEPTIONS • Must have at least 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic. • Certified Diesel Mechanic is a PLUS • Certified welder is a PLUS • Must submit and pass complete background check per Company policy. • Must be available to accept night calls • Must be FLUENT in English. Bilingual a plus. • Willing to work flexible hours • Capable of working under their own direction with limited supervision • Self Motivated and dependable • Able to lift 100 lbs at a time • Must be computer literate Benefits: • Competitive Pay • Paid Cell Phone • Benefits
