CERTIFIED DIESEL MECHANIC - Ride The Ducks The Mechanic is responsible for the daily inspection, repair, maintenance and mechanical safety of all RTD amphibious vehicles, fleet vehicles and all others that are assigned Must understand, read, write, and speak the English language Must demonstrate knowledge of engine, transmissions, chassis units and related-mechanical components under general practices of Mechanics trade at Journeyman level Must be able to work in a fast paced environment in order to complete required repairs in a timely manner Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Responsible to examine vehicles and report the nature and extent of damage or malfunction; and plan work procedure based on approved methods Boat/Marine repair experience, highly advantageous PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and climb or balance. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme heat; and risk of electrical shock The noise level in the work environment is usually loud Required Experience Auto mechanic certificate from college or technical school required Minimum of 2 years of experience and/or training required Must be willing to undergo additional training or certification, as required
