Mechanic Job in Oakland Park, Florida

I've been researching this sudden loss of 1st and reverse and most folks seem to agree it is a worn plastic part down in the shift linkage coupling area. It's not my car, but a friend of mine and we are not real interested in tackling this surgery. Any chance I could get a ball park figure on having that part swapped out with a new one? Please include the total price (part labor) for doing that job. Thanks in advance, Mike Car is located in Oakland Park and is driveable if that changes the price estimate?
