Fuel pump assembly replaced 2014 Kia Forte lx located under my back seat! It has been replaced but only the fuel pump. Either it has been assembled wrong or the fuel pump is faulty, could also just be the fuel filter! Please help

I have a 2005 Ford Ranger that I need to have the engine and transmission pulled from and replaced. I have a 2001 Ford Ranger with an identical engine and transmission with 170k miles to be pulled and transplanted into the 2005. I am in no rush as far as a time frame and can wait as long as it takes for the job to be done.
