Position Purpose The Mechanic completes mechanical work on vehicles in the repair process and may up sell mechanical needs to the customer. The Mechanic is responsible for completing safety checks of all assigned vehicles. This position plays a key role in delivering on ABRA’s promise of speed, quality and customer satisfaction. Key Contributions Safety checks of all customer vehicles. Completing mechanical work as required. Selling services to customers. Possible body work: small bumper replacements, dash replacements, R & I of interiors on hail repairs and wind noise, water leak issues. Position Requirements Experience with alignment and suspension work and air bag installation. Dealership background preferred. Ability to diagnose check engine and air bag problems. Knowledge of manufacturers’ repair processes & adherence to ABRA's technical repair processes. Must maintain a valid state driver’s license in order to drive any customer or company vehicle. Auto Body Vo-Tech certificate preferred. Predictable and reliable attendance required. Physical Demands/Working Conditions · Periodic lifting, carrying and pushing objects over 50-75 pounds. · Reaching above and below shoulder level. · Able to push materials/parts carts and push cars (with assistance). · Extended periods of kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping to complete or inspect repairs. · Manual dexterity and eye/hand coordination to operate equipment. · May be exposed to repetitive tasks involving hand and arm motion. · May be required to inspect vehicles outdoors in inclement weather. · May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, high levels of dust and noise in repair center. Must be able to wear protective equipment, including respirator
